I finally finished my Elsa cosplay!!! I cannot even express what this cosplay means to me!

I finished this just in time for Desucon 9 last weekend! Literally parked outside the venue as the cosplay competition started! This is my first time competing since EuroCosplay (because I started letting the stress of competitions take away from my enjoying the craft, so I pulled myself out of it.), but I wanted the chance to go on stage to sparkle and glitter and sing! Which I got the chance to, and it was amazing even though I was super nervous on stage and that affected my singing quite a bit, hahah! But you can imagine my surprise when I actually placed 1st in the competition!! I was so humbled and shocked, I didn't know what to do. I struck a pose on stage and instantly burst into tears at the first person congratulating me!!

This costume has been a good two months of hard work, a lot of money and probably has tiny pieces of my soul scattered around it. Ever since I laid eyes on the first released pictures of Elsa, I knew I had to cosplay her. Never had the NEED to be a Disney character before I saw her, and now it's been my dream cosplay to do for a while! So to have it ready means the world to me! This cosplay is my baby!

Everything is sewn by me, the corset, skirt, cape and top. The cape is 4 meters long and decorated with 1.5 kg silver, white and blue glitter. The corset is decorated with around 2000 sequins that I've hand painted to different textures, then Swarovski crystals and rhinestones. The wig is a lace front with extra hair added into it for the fullness of the braid. I've also made shoes for this costume, that glitter like frosted snow!

Wearing this to a convention, I've never had so many kind people compliment me on my cosplay before. I'm so truly humbled by the experience, and by the love I met around the community! I'll be doing photoshoots with her, and probably a video of both Let it Go, and For the First Time in Forever Reprise!!

I also made a facebook page for my cosplay recently! You can find it here:

May I ask a favor?
I'm doing a speech about Cosplay for one of my classes and I would like to use your Elsa cosplay as an example. It is really spectacular and amazing, and I believe it will really make my speech more effective.

You absolute sweetheart, I'm so flattered and humbled that you'd ask. I'd be thrilled if you wanted to use my Elsa as an example! Go right ahead.

There are more pictures in this album that aren't on dA:… ^u^

Thank you so much!

Oh my goodness!! This is so beautiful and impressive, words cant describe how proud I am of you! And I don't even know you! I wish I could see this in person! I've actually started getting into cosplay, but I'm not nearly good enough at sewing to make my own yet! I was just wondering if you had any tips? I found a dress I love and plan on ordering, but I'm having serious trouble finding a wig!
Any advice would be so helpful!
Thank you!

Ahhh thank you so much for your amazingly kind comment! I'm so honoured!! This warms my heart right up <3 Ahh, welcome to the cosplay world! I hope you'll enjoy it!! And don't be afraid! The first thing I ever made was my Elphaba (green witch) costume, and I had NO idea how to sew! XD I still don't really know anything technical about sewing, I just try my best, use and alter patterns as best as I can. Look at garments and how they're put together. You learn so much if you actually have something you can pluck to pieces and look at the different parts, hahah :D Best of luck! Just take your time and have fun with it!! Thank YOU, Rachel!

You're so welcome!! Thanks for getting back to me, it means a lot! And thanks for the advice!! I think I'm going to try to make a Maleficent dress soon, shes my favorite character along with Elsa! I decided Elsa's dress was just to crazy complicated for me, so I think I'm going to order this one!…
Its beautiful and the company that makes it are so awesome and the price is way better than I expected! I'll let you know how it goes, you're such an inspiration!!
