Description

I finally finished my Elsa cosplay!!! I cannot even express what this cosplay means to me!

I finished this just in time for Desucon 9 last weekend! Literally parked outside the venue as the cosplay competition started! This is my first time competing since EuroCosplay (because I started letting the stress of competitions take away from my enjoying the craft, so I pulled myself out of it.), but I wanted the chance to go on stage to sparkle and glitter and sing! Which I got the chance to, and it was amazing even though I was super nervous on stage and that affected my singing quite a bit, hahah! But you can imagine my surprise when I actually placed 1st in the competition!! I was so humbled and shocked, I didn't know what to do. I struck a pose on stage and instantly burst into tears at the first person congratulating me!!

This costume has been a good two months of hard work, a lot of money and probably has tiny pieces of my soul scattered around it. Ever since I laid eyes on the first released pictures of Elsa, I knew I had to cosplay her. Never had the NEED to be a Disney character before I saw her, and now it's been my dream cosplay to do for a while! So to have it ready means the world to me! This cosplay is my baby!

Everything is sewn by me, the corset, skirt, cape and top. The cape is 4 meters long and decorated with 1.5 kg silver, white and blue glitter. The corset is decorated with around 2000 sequins that I've hand painted to different textures, then Swarovski crystals and rhinestones. The wig is a lace front with extra hair added into it for the fullness of the braid. I've also made shoes for this costume, that glitter like frosted snow!

Wearing this to a convention, I've never had so many kind people compliment me on my cosplay before. I'm so truly humbled by the experience, and by the love I met around the community! I'll be doing photoshoots with her, and probably a video of both Let it Go, and For the First Time in Forever Reprise!!

Wow, what a lovely fabric you you discovered for the skirt! I'm close to finished with my own costume, but I've been really struggling to find something that I consider acceptable for the skirt. Did you hand-decorate it, or did it come with those perfect streaks?
